Fishing
The Pere Marquette River is one of Michigan’s most famous rivers. It rises from the confluence of the Middle Branch of the Pere Marquette, the Little South Branch and the Baldwin River near the town of Baldwin, MI and meets Lake Michigan near the town of Ludington, MI.
The Pere Marquette is home to Brown and Rainbow Trout as well as fall, winter and spring runs of Lake Michigan Steelhead and summer through fall runs of Chinook Salmon. Lake-run Brown Trout follow the Steelhead and Salmon up river to feast on their eggs. Both flyfishing and spinfishing are used.
